Vince acting Young

You would think for someone that stated they would be the next African-American quarterback to win a SuperBowl, they would be focused on reaching that goal? Wrong! Instead, Tennessee Titans quarterback, Vince Young, was out at a Dallas strip club where he received a misdemeanor assault citation. Young proceeded to push (some sources say he threw a punch) the owner of the club who taunted him with an upside down Texas Longhorns sign. Regardless if the owner did that or even “flipped the bird to him”, Young should have never reacted the way he did. When you’re a professional athlete, whether popular or not (popular in this case), you must carry yourself a certain way and have a positive image in the media and public. There was no need for Young to use his hands and now he must face the consequences.
Young mentioned that he hopes that NFL commissioner, Roger Goodell, doesn’t come down to hard on him, but we know that’s not realistic. Goodell isn’t notorious for being lenient and having sympathy for his athletes, just ask Pacman Jones. My motto for when Goodell makes a decision on players is: “Expect the unexpected.” Many players have suffered greatly from their off field incidents and have been suspended for numerous games and fined for hefty amounts.
Young still has yet to reach his full potential as his collegiate career has been far better than his professional. Whatever the repercussions may be, I hope this is used as motivation for Vince to reach his goal rather than bring him down…Suit up Kerry Collins.
