This past weekend, I attended the 2011 Philadelphia Association of Black Journalists Awards Ceremony. It was truly a blessing to be selected for their collegiate scholarship. Congratulations to all the other recipients as well: Lorraine Branham (Trailblazer Award- Dean and Professor of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications), Heshimu Jaramogi (Lifetime Achievement Award- Publisher, Journalists, Adjunct Professor), Jesse Washington (Journalist of the Year[Print]- National Reporter, The Associated Press), and Harry Hairston (Journalist of the Year[Broadcast]- Investigative Journalist and Anchor, NBC 10)
Congratulations on your award and your achievements thus far. Hard work beats talents so continue to work hard and you will accomplish your desired career aspirations.
