The Heat's Silent Assassin

With the superstar trio of Dwayne Wade, Lebron James, and Chris Bosh in South Beach, many teams will have nightmares constructing a scouting report on how to stop these three elite players. Ironically, arguably the most valuable, but least noticed player out of this three-head monster is Chris Bosh.
Bosh has always seemed to be the least recognized all-star out of the 2003 draft. It could be due to the fact that he had players such as Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Paul accompany him in his draft or that he played his whole career in Toronto until now. For whatever reason it may be, Bosh has always been a dominant presence on the floor and has improved season after season. He's the NBA's best kept secret. He's a versatile power forward that can shoot, dribble, pass, defend, and post up. Can you ask for any more from him?
When people talk about one of the best power forwards in the league, Bosh's name is hardly mentioned. He can't help if his team is barely publicized in the US especially when hockey comes 1st to everything in Canada.
Teams will quickly learn how deadly of a weapon Bosh is as he'll provide match-up problems for many teams. Bosh is probably the Heat's biggest acquisition this summer due to the size in the paint. Bosh will have to match-up against players such as Dwight Howard, Andrew Bynum, Paul Gasol, Kendrick Perkins, etc night in and night out. Not only will he have to stop some of them on offense, but also box them out repeatedly. Bosh may have more on his plate than he realizes as he is the new face of the interior defense of the Miami Heat. Wade and James may be able to fly through the air and block shots, but Bosh will have to bang up against the bigger bodies constantly.
Bosh will get the exposure that he deserves now that he's playing in South Beach as well as show off his talents. Spectators already know what they're going to get with Dwayne Wade and Lebron James every night. On the other hand, you don't know what to expect from Bosh. Teams need to watch out for the silent assassin of the Heat. He won't talk too much, but his game will speak volumes.

Game of Redemption

After being traded from the New England Patriots to the Minnesota Vikings this week, Randy Moss will make his debut with his former team against the New York Jets. Besides being able to “moss” Darrelle Revis with a one hand touchdown-catch in the first half, the Jets were able to contain one the best wide receivers of all-time throughout the game. It should be an interesting match-up as Revis has stated that his hamstring would be good to go for the game.
Moss has had some great memories in Minnesota and I’m sure he’ll want to pick up right where he left off. This could be the key to Brett Favre getting his mojo back and hopefully beating his former team as well.
Another player who seems to be forgotten is former Super Bowl MVP, Santonio Holmes. Due to substance abuse policy, Holmes received a four-game suspension. Mark Sanchez seems to be in a groove while the Jets have been able to move the ball not only on the ground, but through the air. The return of Holmes just makes the offense deadlier.
Both teams are probably the most dangerous that we’ve seen them all season. The Jets passing game has added another key element and they already have two monsters in the backfield. Even though Moss may be a little older, he still has made the shaky pass game of the Vikings much more dangerous. Remind you that the man did reinvent the word catching “Mossed” and how could I forget about the vicious, beast Adrian Peterson who runs relentlessly every time he touches the ball.
Both of these teams are top contenders in their conference and have the weapons to make it to the Super Bowl. We may not get a chance to see both of these teams play again, so tune into Monday Night Football to see these titans clash.

Boozer out for 2 Months

After recently being acquired by the Chicago Bulls during the offseason for a five-year $75 million deal, Carlos Boozer could miss up two months after tripping over a bag in his house. Boozer's fall caused him to fracture the fifth metacarpal bone in his hand Saturday.
Despite the two-time All-Star's injury, he feels that they have guys who will be able to step up and play. Taj Gibson is likely to replace Boozer in the starting lineup. The Bulls know how instrumental Boozer is to their team and hope that he'll be able to recover quickly from his energy.
Chicago begins their preseason tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks.

McNabb returns to Lincoln

As the Washington Redskins and Philadelphia Eagles meet for the 150th time, what better way to spark up the intense division rivalry again than with McNabb making his 1st return to Lincoln Financial Field.
Even with all of his success in the city of Brotherly Love, McNabb was never truly able to win over Eagles’ fans. Michael Vick on the other hand has received much acceptance in Philadelphia despite being sentenced to two years in prison because of dog fighting. Some have put Vick’s actions behind while others haven’t, have you?
Just after playing 10 quarters and leading the Eagles to top of the NFC East, Vick looks better than when he played with the Atlanta Falcons. Vick once was one of the most talented and highest paid players before his career came crashing down due to torturing and killing dogs. Many players and fans are rooting for Vick the player, but have they forgiven him as a man who’s served his time and is trying to do right and restructure his life.
Little do many Philadelphia fans know, one of the main catalysts for Vick’s success in Philadelphia is their former quarterback, #5. Donovan McNabb brought the idea up to his coach, Andy Reid, when no one wanted to acquire Vick. Many ridiculed the Eagles organization for making a bonehead decision for signing someone that committed all these previous crimes and could possibly demoralize the team’s public image. Little did everyone know how much of an impact the once called “Superman” of the league would have for the Birds.
The fact of the matter is that the Eagles are much more dangerous team with Vick in the huddle rather than Kolb and have a chance to win many more games. Vick has the third highest passer rating in the league and may potentially be an even better player now than in Atlanta. Vick does repeat time and time again how much he owes his success to his mentor, McNabb. Besides from all the laughs that Donovan had provided for him while teammates, he also taught him the art of film study. McNabb took Vick under his wing and molded him into a better player. Vick’s performance has obviously showed as some thought he would never be able to be this good let alone have any impact on the field again.
Vick has taken full advantage of his second chance and will have to keep proving himself game in and out. Regardless of his great performance after two and half games, the season has just begun. Remind you that they’ve only played three games and could fall in the second half of the season.
This game will be Vick’s very first true test as he’ll be playing his 1st division game against his mentor and close friend. McNabb won’t be holding anything back and Vick shouldn’t either! I’m looking for a hard-nose football with adrenaline pumping throughout each and every player’s veins.
